MAINTENANCE PLANNING ENGINEER

 

Key Deliverables

 

CMMS (SAP GUI, R/3, ERP, ECC 6.0):

 

q    Lead the plant maintenance team in ensuring that Plant maintenance is executed in safe, good and cost effective manner, which will deliver reliability and availability of the plant equipment for production when it is needed.

q    Generates weekly & daily maintenance schedule by coordinating plans, prioritizing work and allocating appropriate resources for the action of the area zone Supervisors.

q    Focal point for receiving work requests, scoping & estimating, material preparation and scheduling and work allocation & distribution.
Reviews work priorities and liaise with owner and technical support departments including contractors in order to ensure accuracy of information so that operational needs are met.

q    Responsible for ensuring that routine maintenance activities are performed according to schedule.

q    Ensures that data in the SAP system are kept accurate and up-to-date in support of achieving reliable plant operation.
Attends daily coordination meetings with district supervisors, operating personnel and various technical and craft support groups for the purpose of developing schedules.

q    Coordinates with Workshops, Districts and various maintenance contractors for the supply of craft services like rigging, scaffolding, installation work, machining, painting etc., ensuring availability of the service as and when required.

q    Regularly reviews work request status to ensure a healthy backlog is maintained.

q    Identify opportunities, support initiatives and encourage his team to improve production processes in conjunction with production personnel to improve quality, productivity, enhance safety or drive down costs.

q    Manage all plant maintenance personnel i.e. Discipline, Personal Protective Equipment, leave planning and Capacity Utilization of craftsmen.

q    Identify all plant maintenance section related improvement opportunities including but not limited to job descriptions, trainings, processes and procedures, manning levels.

q    Analyze gaps between the planned and actual progress and highlight the areas of concern which required action of the associate task member.

q    Set up a master maintenance plan in conjunction with maintenance schedules to maintain the plant with-in given reliability engineering standards thereby control MTBF & MTTR . 

q    Prepare and update three weeks and three months look-ahead schedule that reflect the priority activities.

q    Liaises with all team leaders and/or members to communicate required completion dates and interface between cross functional team/operational team and project team. 

q    Participate all meeting ( i.e schedule review meeting , progress meeting, coordination meeting, constructibility review meeting and so on ).

q    Create, Modifies & Maintain Equipment database to reflect changes in plant equipment.

q    Utilize the SAP for preventative maintenance schedules to ensure that all plant equipment is maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications.

q    Utilize the SAP for SABIC Weekly & Monthly KPI’s analysis and corrective actions to improve maintenance of plant equipment & utilization of manpower.

q    execution of timely maintenance activities by receiving, planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance work orders. Ensures timely and coordinated availability of facilities and equipment to be worked on, parts, materials, special tools & equipment, personnel & skills for orderly maintenance work execution.

 

PRIMAVERA P6 :

 

q    Scheduling and planning predictive, preventive, shutdown and breakdown maintenance jobs with key focus on spares availability and root cause analysis using Primavera P6.

q    Provide Earn Value Analysis & Risk Analysis for the ongoing project progress.

q    Planning & scheduling at L4 detail-Managing production of detailed planning & control schedules.

q    Daily updating the detail schedules, interface with area managers & others to ascertain daily progress.

q    Assure that all schedules follow the project standard coding systems as WBS, Activity Coding & ID.

q    Monitoring projects with respect to Cost, Resource Deployment, Time over-runs and Quality Compliance to ensure execution of projects within the time & cost parameters in “S – Curves”.

 

SPARES :

q    Creates and maintains records for repair, overhaul and manufacture of spare parts required by the plant sub-section.

q    Raises issued Capital Spares.

q    Initiates Asset Disposal Requests.

q    Prepares inquiries, analyze & compares the inquiry quotation received from purchase specialist, spare to assist the plant superintendent in vendor selection.

q    Raises material reservation for planned & unplanned shutdowns & down days.

q    Monitors capital expenditure, repairable & request items on issue.

q    Liaisons with the specialist, spares on modification/adjustments to be made to control re-order points,stock levels,etc.

 

 

Maintenance & Operations:

q    Organize and control all the maintenance planning activities in his area of responsibility in a reliability centered approach.

q    Identifies immediate and future maintenance requirements in regard to spares, manpower, overhaul and replacement of equipment, resulting from down days, shutdowns, completed  orders, shift/day reports and routine daily discussions with the relevant Superintendent, Maintenance Engineers/Specialists, Supervisors, Senior Technicians and Shift Leaders.

q    Identify, prepare and apply mechanical isolations.

q    Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) process and review conclusions.

q    Liaisons with the relevant Superintendent, Maintenance Engineers/Specialists, Supervisors, Senior Technicians and Shift Leaders on planned maintenance requirements and effectiveness.

q    Maintains system history, generate shutdown plans and all maintenance schedules using either manual and/or electronic methods.

q    Prepare Daily maintenance equipment status Logs.

q    Ensure that all records/logs/certificates are maintained and updated to provide evidence of terminal conformance to the company.

q    Develops maintenance plans, contractor work scopes, spares requirements, equipment and manpower schedules both weekly and ad-hoc as per management requirements. Distribute plans/schedules, work-list and orders for all maintenance activities to be done during daily, weekly and other downtime periods.

q    Organizes, prepares, issues, and monitors all planned maintenance schedules including major plant shutdowns and record history.

q    Carries out plant visits in order to evaluate work content and to estimate spares and labor requirements for both down day and plant shutdown work programs.

q    Monitors the effectiveness of planned maintenance activities and recommend/implement changes as required.

q    Analyzes engineering drawings and technical specifications in support of the plant Superintendent’s requirements.

q    Update integrity and re-certification documentation and records within the maintenance management system.

q    Provides performance evaluation through management reports for identified criteria.

q    Keeps up to date with relevant company procedures adhering to their requirements, undertaking reviews to their changing needs, feeding back to and working with MIS, SAP, and other management’s staff in developing and enhancing CMMS system.

q    Assists in the preparation of justifications and costs for projects and spares.

 

 

 

Maintenance Purview:

q    Responsible for the availability & reliability of all stationary & rotary equipments in 2500 MTPD CEMENT PLANT & 340 MTPD Soda Ash Solids Effluent Treatment Plant.

q    Responsible for planned & unplanned maintenance of Reactors, Heat Exchangers, Compressors, Blowers, Pumps, Conveyors, Rotary Drums and Bucket Elevators, Clarifiers,  Electrostatic Precipitators, Ball Mills, Screw Conveyors, weigh Feeders, Rotary Kiln, ETP, Stacker, Reclaimer, Rotary Sluice, Jet pulse filters, Grate Cooler, ID & FD Fans, Calciner , Cyclone Separator, Vibrofeeder, Seal pot &IP Scrubber, Agitators, Truck Loading Equipments through preventive, predictive & breakdown maintenance.

q    Improved Kiln, Cement Mill,Packing Plant throughput by optimization of PMR’s( Preventive Maintenance Schedules).

q    Executing cost saving and energy saving techniques / measures and modification to achieve substantial reduction in operational work within the budget.(indigenous spares usage & in-house fab)

q    Identifying capacity limitations and bottlenecks and process problems, plant upsets, reasons for production shortfall for taking corrective action.

q    Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and Strategic Utilization of available resources.

q    Review of SWP’s, JSA’s, & PPE’s with checklist before job commencement to ensure safety at workplace.

q    Maintaining third-party recertification of all lifting tools-tackles & pressure vessels

q    Recording the plant performance data on day to day basis, ensuring & tracking the breakdown analysis reports for various breakdowns occurring during plant operation.

q    Responsible for planning annual & emergency shutdown maintenance in cooperation with the inspection cell & Execution Heads.

q    SAP PLANNER : End user for SAP R3 Module for Material Management & Plant Maintenance activities by generating maintenance orders, notifications, closure along with procurement module for purchase requisition, purchase orders, as per job requirement & contractor job activities, shut down planning.

SHEQ Management

q    Ensuring adherence to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Management Systems.

q    Maintaining all related documents.

q    Liaising with external auditors for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 surveillance audits.

 

Team Management

q    Directing, leading & motivating workforce and imparting continuous on job training for accomplishing greater operational effectiveness/ efficiency.

q    Conducting Training Programs on Maintenance, SHEQ Management Systems, 5‘S’ & Teamwork, etc.
